Mine for Keeps Jean Little, Read Whole Book
This book was good. It was kinda sad. Its about a girl with scoliosis or something and she gets a dog to become her companion. I'm more of a cat person, so dog books aren't really my thing but this was probably one of the best dog books I've read. Probably because the book didn't revolve around the dog. It was around the girl, but the dog was a big part of her life. After living in a school for the disabled as long as she can remember it's hard for her to fit in, especially when she's known as 'the girl with the disease'.

Title: Love, Stargirl
Pages Read: first chapter
Time Read: 15 minutes
I hated this book so much the first time I read it. I mean, the first Stargirl was really good. Not my favorite book in the world, but well-written. The sequel absolutely sucked. But I read it on the summer to 6th grade so it's been a while. I decided to give it another shot, now that I've learned a lot more about looking for deeper meaning. When I read it this time around I found some meaning but I still really don't like it. And it's not because I know what's going to happen so I'm bored. I didn't even remember what this book was about. I don't think I even finished it because it was that bad. Its a weird story that is really boring. Maybe it gets better but the beginning is so slow and boring that I never really made it to the middle. A lot of people might think not to judge a book until you've read the whole thing but my motto is "don't judge a book by it's cover- judge it by the first chapter"
In conclusion, I still hate this book. Yes it has some meaning. But the story is a little cliche and highly boring.

I love this book. I know I kinda say that about every book I read but this one I really love. I know the story kind of, because it's about the Holocaust but the writing is just... superb. Elie Weisil was born to write. He seems so smart. His writing is more like art than writing. He mentions losing his faith in God when he suffers through the hellish nightmare of the Holocaust, which is extremely sad to me, because I am ultimately a religious person. Anyways about him losing his faith in God, he thinks, why me? Why was it him? It was him because he could survive through it and create beautiful pieces of artwork that will never let us forget what happened to the Jews. This writing just moves me and takes me to dark places in my mind that I never want to go to. It makes me think. Oh dear God, how would I survive if it was me? At one point he says "Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence that deprived me for all eternity of the desire to live" How awful is that? I cried the first time I read that. These people were deprived of the desire to live!?

Title:Keep me in your heart
Pages:1-68
Time Read:1 hour
This book is pretty good. It's not really my style of writing but it's a good story. True love. Jessica has a kidney failure and she has to go on a machine to keep her alive-but it's not working. Her lover, Jeremy, is a perfect genetic match to be a kidney doner- after all you only need one kidney to live. He has finally convinced Jessica to let him give it to her. The only problem is his uptight parents. They've already lost 1 child to a car accident. Their afraid for Jeremy too. But Jeremy argues "you only need 1 to live!" and hi9s dad asks him "why'd God give us 2 then?" and Jeremy's answer, I'm not sure why, is like a wowzer to me. He says "maybe because He wanted us to share." I hope that his parents let him. Jessica deserves a kidney. I'm not sure what will happen now. All I can say is that I really hope, writing-wise, that this book gets better. I mean it's kinda poorly written. Then again, every man has his own tastes.

Title: The Unwritten Rule
Time Read: Unknown
Pages Read: The whole book
This book was amazing. I am so very sad that it's over. But it had a good ending so I'm happy :) It really kept me on my toes, you know? I didn't know what would happen next. I hate it when your reading a book and it's so predictable. I mean, how boring right? This book was making my heart pound and my blood race. I finished it in one day and 2 sittings. I didn't do my homework. That's how crazy good it was. And it wasn't the classic girl-meets-boy plot. The plot had a lot of twists and I liked that. It was more of a girl-loves-boy-but-girls-best-friend-goes-out-with-him-and-girl-and-boy-have-meetings-behind-friends-back kind of plot. Which causes their friendship. But the main girl, Sarah, her friend was a jerk who didn't treat her right. And the guy was so nice. They belonged together. So you know what Sarah's friend? You'll be a loser forever. I really didn't like her. But over all the book was good. It was a different style of writing but I liked it.,

This paper was interesting enough, but, to me it wasn't totally intriguing. It didn't have me hooked at all. It wasn't an interesting science piece that keeps you on your toes. It had long terms that were difficult to understand and it seemed to drone on and on. The only reason that I didn't' quit on this paper was that in hopes that it would get better ( which it never really did) and because it was about extra terrestrial life, in my opinion, the most interesting out of all scientific topics. The academic point of this paper, however, was very informative. I learned a lot, although technically it was just a theory. Basically scientists are saying that life may have started way out in the universe and that by meteor or comet, life was kind of "delivered to us." I don't necessarily agree with this because I strongly disagree with evolution(which is what their theory is implying), although I do keep an open mind about. Like Aristotle once said "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." I can entertain theory's and concepts such as life being delivered to us without really accepting them.
Anyhow, back to the informativeness, scientists at NASA say that if this theory is true life could be in galaxies we could never dream of reaching, way out in the recesses of space.
There was a lot more that was in the article, but it was a bit harder to digest and writing a description of the rest would be extremely difficult. I must first comprehend and digest it, and then I might be able to write about it. But for now the real universe and the universe of my mind shall be left unexplored.
